SPANNTOP [nova] – Structure and function
Brief description
The SPANNTOP [nova] combi deadlength is a
through-bore chuck for bar work and it can also be
used as an end-stop chuck. When used as an end-
stop chuck the base end-stop included in the scope of
delivery is screwed into the chuck.
Due to the axial fixed clamping head, shoulders that
are short to clamp can be machined, and so can long
workpieces that must be machined in sections and
moved forward several times.
With the SPANNTOP [nova] combi deadlength clam-
ping device you can grip without axial stress on the
workpiece.
The spindle flange of the clamping device is mounted
on the machine spindle. Then the clamping unit with
the drawtube adapter, including threaded adapter [op-
tional], is screwed onto the drawtube. After checking
concentricity and face run the clamping head is inser-
ted.
The workpieces that will be machined are now clam-
ped into the clamping head.
