I
NSPECTION
1. Verify that the Shaker is unplugged from any power source (e.g., wall out-
let).
2. Remove the base plate of the Shaker (see Chapter 4, Base Plate Removal
on page 4-2).
3. Visually inspect the body board and power supply for burned or missing
components or other potential mechanical obstructions or electrical haz-
ards.
4. Inspect the base of the Shaker for obvious cracks extending from the base
plate screw holes up the sides of the Shaker. Inspect the seam joining the
two halves of the Shaker to determine that it is secure. Inspect under the
shroud at the link assembly to verify that there are no obstructions to the
crank "M" assembly, link assembly or shroud assembly. Also inspect for
foreign objects under the shroud (e.g., packing materials, etc.).
5. Inspect the power cord for cut or broken insulation. Remove any tape or
labels except Underwriter's Laboratory or Canadian Standards Associa-
tion (CSA) approval labels, as they may be concealing a cut in the insula-
tion or other defect.
6. Return Shaker to its upright position on a suitable work surface. If the
Shaker has passed all of the preceding inspections, proceed to the repair
section of this manual and perform the necessary repairs. Upon comple-
tion of repairs, repeat all inspection steps.
