The Model G0853 has the capability of rip cutting
large panels (see
Figure 130). The sliding table
removes the burden of sliding a large and heavy
panel over a stationary table surface.

1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2. Position crosscut fence on crosscut table,
and rotate it until fence touches 90° stop bolt
(see
Figure 132).

This saw also has the capability of rip cutting
smaller boards, using the machine as a traditional
table saw (see
Figure 131). Smaller, lighter boards
are easier to slide across the stationary cast-iron
table surface to the right of the saw blade.

The edge shoe (see
Figure 130) is used to
stabilize the front end of a workpiece when
otherwise unsecured.
3. Check to make sure fence is 90° to blade
and, if necessary, adjust it as described in
Squaring Crosscut Fence to Blade on
Page 95.
4. Calibrate crosscut fence (refer to Page 61 for
further details).

5. Set flip stop to desired width of cut (see
Figure 133) by loosening flip stop knob bolt,
sliding flip stop until it aligns with desired
mark on scale, and retightening knob bolt.
Determine which cutting operation will be best
suited for the workpiece to be ripped.
