Support for interfaces:
•

A USB host controller (root hub) provides a high speed USB interface for the external USB 
ports in the interface boards and for the internal system components (user interface 
board, tone generator and for the USB Disk On Module).

•

The main processor provides one link layer interface for the external RJ-45 Ethernet ports 
and ePort DB9 PDM interface in the interface board.

•

The CPU board provides a physical layer Ethernet interface for the 10-pin ePort connector 
in the PDM docking station.

9.1.3 Display subsystem

Display

The patient monitor has an integrated 15" active matrix color TFT LCD panel with an LED 
backlight unit. It provides wide viewing angle and supports XGA (1024 * 768 pixels) resolution. 
The video controller is integrated into the CPU board. The CPU board provides LVDS output and
+3.3 V supply voltage to the LCD panel via the display cable.
The currently manufactured patient monitors have an LCD panel with a LED backlight unit and
a Backlight LED Adapter Board. The earlier production series have an LCD display with 2 CCFL
(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlight units and a Backlight Inverter Board.
To identify the display type of the patient monitor, detach the top cover and check the color of
the backlight cable and the rear of the LCD panel:

LCD display with a LED backlight unit and a Backlight LED adapter 

board.

This display model has a backlight LED adapter board that connects to the DC/DC board with 
an inverter cable and to the LCD display with a single black backlight cable.
The backlight LED adapter board takes care of the following functions:

It passes the +12V supply voltage from the DC/DC board to the LED backlight unit in the 
LCD display.

Patient monitors with LCSD display and CCFL 
backlights have:
- A dual-wire pink and white backlight 

cable.

- The color of the rear side of the LCD panel 

is metallic grey.

- The LCD panel type is G150X1-LO1.

Patient monitors with LCD display and LED 
backlight unit have:
- A white plastic shield that covers the 

backlight.

- The backlight cable (black) is not visible as 

it is connected to the lower part of the 
backlight LED adapter board.

- The LCD panel type is G150XGE-LO4.
