1. Remove all accessories not used from the heating compartment. Ensure that there
are no foreign objects in the heating compartment. Ensure that the crumb tray is
inserted below the bottom heating elements.
2. Prepare your food according to your recipe. Select the best suited accessory
(grilling rack, baking pan, or rotisserie spit; see: ‘Properties of Your Design Bistro
Oven Bake & Grill / Useful Accessories’ and ‘Tips for Best Results’).
Note
Most recipes are designed for common ovens. However, in comparison to these
appliances, the Design Bistro Oven Bake & Grill reaches the set temperature in
an unusual short time. In most cases, pre-heating is not really required. For saving
energy, you should prefer to place your food into the oven before heating and
skip over the pre-heating phase. However, in some cases a pre-heated oven and
pre-heated cooking dishes are required (e.g. for meat). Do not forget to place
you food into the oven in time (max. 10 minutes), to avoid excessive energy loss.
3. If it will do without pre-heating the oven / cooking dishes, place your prepared
food on the grilling rack or baking pan, select the appropriate shelf slot and
push your food into the oven (see: ‘Properties of Your Design Bistro Oven Bake
& Grill / 3 Shelf Slots’). If you wish to use the rotisserie spit, refer to section
‘Grilling via the Rotisserie Spit’.
WARNING:
Food may catch fire when overheated!
Food and cooking dis-
hes must always be kept in a distance of at least 3 cm (1-2 inches; width of a
teaspoon) to the heating elements. Please keep in mind, that food may swell up,
break up, or drip during heating. If in doubt, select another shelf slot. When using
the grilling rack and your food may drip, we recommend to insert the baking pan
below the grilling rack to catch the juices, whenever possible.
WARNING:
DO NOT cover the crumb tray with metal foil
to avoid risk of
over-heating and short circuit! Do not operate the oven with the oven door open!
4. Close the oven door.
5. Insert the power plug into a wall power outlet of an appropriate power supply. A
beep sounds and the control panel illuminates for approx. 3 seconds. Thereafter the
control panel gets dark again with the ON/OFF button flashing (standby mode).
6. Set-up the oven for your task.
