Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
You cannot set the desired
temperature according to
your recipe or the set tem-
perature is not kept by the
oven.
The wrong temperature unit
is selected.
Check, whether the temperature unit used in your recipe is
displayed at the right side of the set temperature. If not,
press the temperature button to switch to the required unit
(°C or °F).
You deactivated the con-
vection fan, but the fan is
running audibly.
The electronics of the oven
have got a separate fan for
cooling, running indepen-
dently of the convection fan.
This is normal. Independently of the oven fan, the convec-
tion fan of the heating compartment will be active only
with the fan icon shown on the display area. No need to do
anything.
During the heating phase,
smoke escapes within the
heating compartment.
The heating elements are
treated via a protecting
substance that will vaporize
during the first heating.
This may be normal and no need for concern. The smoke stops
after some minutes of heating and will not occur again. The
protecting substance is non-toxic and harmless. However, ensure
good ventilation and clean the heating compartment after the
first heating up (see: ‘First Use’).
Your food is too near to the
heating elements.
Switch off the oven, unplug and wait until the oven has
cooled down. Thoroughly clean the heating compartment
(see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Before starting the oven, always
ensure that your food will remain in sufficient distance of at
least 3 cm (width of a teaspoon) to the heating elements
during the complete cooking process.
Parts or liquids of your food
fell onto the heating ele-
ments during cooking.
Switch off the oven, unplug and wait until the oven has
cooled down. Thoroughly clean the heating compartment
(see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). If the juices of your food could
drip or crumbs may fall down, you should insert the baking
pan, if possible (see: ‘Useful Accessories’).
The cooking time or tempe-
rature is set far too high.
The Design Bistro Oven Bake & Grill will solve a lot of tasks
in a much shorter time than another common ovens. Additi-
onally, the set temperature will be reached quickly and kept
exactly. This is caused by the compact heating compartment
combined with high-performance heating elements. Thus,
before knowing your new Design Bistro Oven Bake & Grill,
you should supervise any cooking process closely. Check
the doneness of your food regularly during cooking to avoid
overheating your food.
After cleaning, there are still
residues left on the heating
elements.
Switch off immediately. Clean the heating elements (see:
‘Care and Cleaning’). Thoroughly remove any splashes and
crumbs from the heating elements. After cleaning, wipe with
a soft cloth moistened with clear water and wipe dry. Ensure
that no fluffs are left on the heating elements.
