CAUTION:
The heating compartment is equipped with a non-stick coating. Do
not use any spray-on non-stick coatings. Do not cut, scratch, or scrape in the
heating compartment.
DO NOT
use any cooking utensils and containers not oven-proof within the heating
compartment. Especially usual glass may crack due to temperature variations. Dishes
and cooking utensils made of plastic and painted objects could melt and/or burn to
charcoal and give off harmful substances. Only use objects, labelled as oven-proof
(see: ‘Tips for Best Results / Cooking Containers’).
Note
Approx. 20 seconds after starting a cooking procedure, the key area will be
locked completely. To make any settings, cooking must be stopped either auto-
matically or by interrupting the cooking procedure manually (see: ‘Interrupting or
Cancelling the Cooking Process’).
Important:
You stop cooking completely via the ON/OFF button. The oven is swit-
ched off, if the control panel is dark (standby mode; see: ‘Interrupting or Cancel-
ling the Cooking Process’). To completely switch off the appliance, always unplug
the appliance from the power supply.
PREPARING THE OVEN AND YOUR FOOD
WARNING:
Always ensure that your food or any part of the utilities used will
not touch the heating elements, to avoid overheating and risk of fire and electric
shock. Keep a distance of at least 3 cm (1-2 inches; width of a teaspoon) to the
heating elements.
Tip:
As with a common oven, there are 3 shelf slots in the heating compartment.
Especially without using the convection fan and depending on the activated heating
elements, temperature distribution may be quite uneven within the heating compart-
ment. This way, you can influence the cooking results (see: ‘Properties of Your Design
Bistro Oven Bake & Grill / 3 Shelf Slots’). If you wish to use the pizza stone, place
the pizza stone on the grilling rack for baking. If juices may drip from the grilling
rack, you should insert the baking pan in a lower shelf slot below the grilling rack.
You may enter the required cooking time and temperature for each operation manu-
ally. Alternatively, select a pre-defined program (see: ‘Using a Pre-Defined Oven
Program’) or set-up your own program (Custom; see: ‘Saving Your Own Program’).
