WARNING:
For fixing your food, and cooking your food in the oven, do
not use any type of material that is sensitive to heat, fat or water or coated or
chemically treated (e.g. plastic or zinc)! Plastic and treated materials could melt,
carbonize, or give off harmful substances and poison your food and air.
Only
use stainless steel and/or hear-resistant and food-save threads and skewers. Keep
in mind that food will loose strength and may shrink or puff-up during cooking.
4. Bind loose parts (e.g. legs and wings) using suitable threads (e.g. non-treated cotton,
hemp, or linen). Additionally, you may use skewers for shish kebab or roulades.
5. Ensure that all parts of your food are fixed securely by turning the rotisserie spit
in your hand.
Note
There are 3 grooves in the rotisserie spit: one groove only at one side almost at
the end. During operation, this side must face to the left side of the oven and must
be inserted in the spit support at the oven wall to avoid that the rotisserie spit will
slip out of the spit support. The other grooves are intended for fixing the spit handle
and will avoid that the rotisserie spit slips from the spit handle.
Preparing the Oven
WARNING:
All parts within the oven will be extremely hot during operati-
on! To avoid severe burns, always protect your hands with oven gloves when
handling within the heating compartment, while it is hot (e.g. inserting or remo-
ving the rotisserie spit).
Please keep in mind, that the exterior of the oven (e.g. hou-
sing, oven window) may get hot too. During operation and some minutes thereafter,
only touch the oven by the operating elements (door handle, control panel).
Important:
In many recipes, a pre-heated oven is explicitly requested. However,
because the Design Bistro Oven Bake & Grill reaches the set temperature very
quickly, it may be acceptable for your dishes, to avoid pre-heating the oven. With
the heating compartment still cold, it is quite easy to insert the rotisserie spit. Addi-
tionally you save energy. However, if you decide to pre-heat the oven, please
keep in mind that the surfaces in the heating compartment will be extremely hot
and even the slightest touch with your skin will cause severe burns.
6. To insert the rotisserie spit: insert the end of the rotisserie spit into the rotor drive
at the right side of the heating compartment. Lay the groove that is almost at the
other end of the rotisserie spit into the spit support at the opposite side of the
heating compartment. Ensure that the rotisserie spit will not slip out of the spit
support.
