Anchoring Towers:
Drill and fasten each hole in turn; this will prevent the tower from shifting.
Drill the mounting holes, starting at the bottom working up the system. A good quality
Hammer Drill is needed when drilling into concrete. Use the approved size masonry bit
for the anchors you are using. Refer to the Fastener/Anchor reference guide at the back
of this manual. Withdraw the drill periodically to remove dust from the cutting area.
Pass a lag bolt through a washer, and screw it into the end of a plug anchor by a few
turns. The anchor can then be tapped into position using a small hammer. Avoid spilling
dust into the hole.
Note
: Lag bolts used for mounting into concrete are longer than those used for wood.
Do not use plug anchors when mounting into wood.
When mounting a lift on wood, use a standard 6mm (1/4-inch) wood drill. Apply grease to
the threads of the anchors to make their insertion easier and faster. When the tube
system is anchored in place and you are satisfied that everything is as it should be, mark
the position of the anchor holes for the Drive Cabinet.
Move the Drive Cabinet out of the way, drill the mounting holes and tap the anchor plugs
in place.
Do not anchor the Drive Cabinet in place yet.
There are several ways to
proceed with installation of the drive on

lifts. This is because the drive box
may be separated from the drive base. This is particularly useful if you prefer to anchor
the base with the drive box out of the way. If you prefer not to separate them, the base
anchor holes are accessible through the bottom of the drive box while they are still
joined.

and well away from the edge of the tread to avoid breaking the stair.
