Refer to the
Maintenance and repair section of this manual for full details of
Overspeed Arrestor testing and tuning.
Lift Inspection
Basic inspection procedures range from load tests to motor stall tests. Before you begin
a test, make sure that you fully understand the requirements. Also, make sure that you
are completely familiar with the operational procedures for the lift you are testing. This
includes all optional functions.
If you are unsure about how to perform a particular test, call the Garaventa technical
help center for instructions. Have the lift serial number and the details of the test
requirements at hand before you call.
Installation Completion and Hand Over
Once the installation is complete, clear all tools and debris from the area. Clean the lift
and the site of all dust and grease. Touch up any scratches and cover all fasteners as
necessary.
Provide the lift owner and all other available interested parties with operational training.
Give the lift keys to the owner along with the owner’s manual and warranty information.
Ask the owner to complete and sign the Warranty registration form and mail it.
Remember, failing to return the warranty registration, may affect the lift warranty period.
It is the responsibility of the lift owner to register the lift’s installation date as the warranty
start date. We recommend that you complete the warranty information for the lift owner
and have the owner sign it. Offer to mail the warranty registration.
MAKE SAFETY THE FIRST PRIORITY.
In your instructions to the lift owner(s)
emphasize the importance of observing safety precautions when operating or doing any
of the approved owner’s maintenance on the lift. Remind them that failure to follow safety
precautions may lead to death or injury to themselves or lift users.
The lift is not a toy
and must be used for the transport of seated single passengers only.
Never open
the Drivebox door without first disconnecting the Main Switch and locking it off.
Tell the owner to keep the users manual in a safe place. If they need another copy, it
may be downloaded from the Garaventa website
www.garaventa.ca
in PDF format. If they
do not understand the operation of the lift make sure you explain it to them. This is a
critical phase of the installation. Unless the lift users are familiar with every characteristic
of lift operation, they will not enjoy complete satisfaction of their new investment. Take
the time to do the hand-over right. Some Technicians and Dealers use a script that they
follow to make sure that they do not miss any of the important instructions.
Complete the feedback documents provided with the lift and return them in the envelope
provided. This information is vital in giving us information about the installation. We
encourage you to use it.
