5. Driving guide
WARNING
The FCW system is subject to the
limitations of laws of physics, and thus
shall never be used for risky driving.
● The FCW system is not always
effective under all circumstances.
The driver must always be ready to
control the vehicle.
● When the FCW system gives alert, the
driver must apply the brake to reduce
the vehicle speed or avoid obstacles
according to traffic conditions.
● The FCW system is only a warning
system to remind the driver to avoid
collisions. It cannot replace the driver
in providing the corresponding active
brake assistance when the system is
triggered, so the driver must always
keep control of the vehicle and take
full responsibility for the speed of the
vehicle and the distance from other
vehicles.
5.4.3 Autonomous emergency
braking (AEB)*
With AEB
Without AEB
The AEB assesses the danger level of collision
by detecting the relative distance and speed of
the vehicle/pedestrian ahead in the same path
according to the IFC installed on the windshield
and the driver’s other operations (such as
depressing the brake pedal or accelerator
pedal), and applies brake when necessary.
When the AEB detects that a collision is about
to occur, it will be activated in the following two
cases:
1. The obstacle ahead is the vehicle or
pedestrian, and the driver does not
depress the brake pedal.
2. The obstacle ahead is the vehicle, and
the driver depresses the brake pedal
with greater force but still cannot avoid a
collision.
NOTE
● Precautions for use of camera.
