How to show/hide the fish size graph
To show/hide the graph do the following:
1. Click the [Graph] icon (
) from the InstantAccess bar™ to show the [Graph]
menu.
2. Click the [Vertical Target Graph] icon (
). The icon changes to a green color and
the [Vertical Target Graph] appears.
To close the graph, click the [Close Window] icon ( ), or click the graph icon.

How to set the method of measurement
The FCV-38 has the four methods of fish size measurement described below. The
measurement range is displayed on the split beam screen.
• [Entire Area]: Measures the size of individual fish over the entire measuring area.
• [Specific Range]: Measure the size of individual fish within the specified depth
• [Bottom Trace]: Measure the size of individual fish near the seabed. See
• [Specific Area]: Measure the size of individual fish within the specified area. See
To select, or change, the method of measurement, do the following:
1. Click the [Sounder] icon (
) from the InstantAccess bar™ to show the [Sounder]
menu bar.
2. Click the [Fish Size Measurement] icon (
) to show menu options.
3. Select the appropriate method of measurement icon, referring to the figure above.

Entire area
This method measures all detected fish. When this method is active, the area of de-
tection (the entire screen) is surrounded with a yellow frame, as shown in the example
figure below.
1. Switch to a display that includes the split beam display ([MODE] indication: [SB]).
2. Click the [Sounder] icon (
) from the InstantAccess bar™ to show the [Sounder]
menu bar, then click the [Fish Size Measurement] icon (
) to show menu op-
tions.
3. Click the [Entire Area] icon (
).
