Item
Option
[Save Destination For Calibra-
tion Results]
Selects where to store calibration results (Internal Memory, Exter-
nal Memory, Internal Memory/External Memory). If no external
memory is connected, that option is greyed out and the results
are saved to the internal memory. The option Internal Memory/
External Memory saves the results to both the internal and exter-
nal memory.
[Sound Speed Formula]
Selects the formula to use for calculation of speed of sound (Sea-
water, Freshwater, Off).
[Depth Entire Range]
Sets the starting and end depth for the calibration. The setting
range is 0.2 to 50.0(m). This setting is linked to the on-screen cal-
ibration range.
[Depth Center]
Sets the center of [Depth Entire Range] (Setting range: 1.0 to
5000.0(m)). This setting is linked to the on-screen calibration
range.
[Water Temperature]
Available when [CTD Data Input] (see below) is set to [Off]. Set
the water temperature value used for sound speed calculation
(Setting range: -5.0 to 45.0(°C). When [CTD Data Input] is set to
[On], the water temperature corresponding to the depth is auto-
matically input if the water temperature value has been imported
from the CTD data.
[Salinity]
Available when [CTD Data Input] (see below) is set to [Off]. Set
the salinity value used for sound velocity calculation (Setting
range: 0.0 to 100.0(psu)). When [CTD Data Input] is set to [On],
the salinity corresponding to the depth is automatically input if the
water temperature value has been imported from the CTD data.
[Sound Speed]
Available when [Sound Speed Formula] (see above) is set to
[Off]. Set the sound velocity value (Setting range: 200.0 to 2000.0
m / s). If [Sound Speed Formula] is selected to other than [Off],
calculation is performed from [Water Temperature], [Salinity], and
[Depth Center], and the results displayed.
[Absorption Coefficient]
Calculated from [Water Temperature], [Salinity], and [Depth Cen-
ter], and the results displayed.
[CTD Data Input]
Available when the following folders exist on the external storage
medium. Drive name:
Set to [On] to use the CTD data file for sound velocity calculation".
[CTD Data Type]
Available when [CTD Data Input] is set to [On]. To specify the
CTD data file to use for sound velocity calculation, follow the
steps below.
1) Click the
button to show the
[CTD File Select] window.
2) Use the drop-down list to select
the format to use. The items
shown in the list are the product
names of other manufacturers.
3) Select the speed calculation to use, then click the [OK] button.
The[CTD File Select] window is erased and the file informa-
tion is imported. If there is something wrong with the file, the
message "Cannot read the file correctly. Check the file and
contents." appears. Check the contents of the file.
[Acceptable Level]
Sets the allowable level (threshold) of the error between the ac-
quired measured value and the theoretical value (Setting range:
0.0 to 10.0(dB)).
