Picture Advance
The picture advance speed determines how quickly the echoes are displayed on-
screen. When setting a picture advance speed, keep in mind that a fast advance
speed will expand echoes horizontally on the screen and a slow advance speed will
contract them. A fast advance speed is useful for observing a rugged seabed closely.
A slow advance speed is useful for observing a smooth seabed.
Note:
When the ACCU-FISH
™
feature is active, the picture advance speed may be
slowed.

Picture advance for FCV-38 and external echo sounders where
"External Fish Finder Window" is set to "Off" at installation
Where [External Fish Finder Window] is set to [Off] at installation, the picture advance
setting is applied to both the FCV-38 and the external fish finder.
1. If the header is not displayed, put the cursor at the top edge of the display to show
it.
2. Click the [ADVANCE] indication on the header. The indication is now highlighted
in a green color.
3. Scroll to select the appropriate advance speed. The table below lists each speed
with a description.
