Installation Procedure 2 (When you do not need to backup or restore data)

In DSC-8400, programs are upgraded with a CF card for data transfer. Copy the following 

program files into a CF card to prepare the installation CF card. 

ds84inst.bin 
SUB_DS84.bin 
ds84prog.bin 
ds84csum.txt

Insert the installation CF card into the CF card slot (CF). 

 

Insert the installation CF card into the CF card slot 

at the side of the main unit. 

 
*Use the CF card slot during installation since 

CFast card slot is used for CFast card (Full 
disclosure waveform).

Turn ON the main power, the software will be installed. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

When the main power is turned ON, the installation of
the software in the CF Card will automatically start. 
Wait until each progress bar indicator reaches its
maximum in CHECK, ERASE, WRITE, and VERIFY
phases. 
 

*When the installation is not executed, the following

causes are considered. 

   

・

 The installation files are not in the CF Card. 

In this case, confirm whether all the above described

files exist or not.

The CF card has not been formatted as a CF card for

data transfer in DS-8400. 

In this case, use the CF card after formatting the card

using DS-8400. 

 

・

 Boot block was deleted. 

→

 Contact Fukuda Denshi.

Remove the CF Card and restart. 

When the Home Display is displayed, the software upgrade is completed. Open [Menu], [Maintenance], and 
[Program version]. Then confirm the version. Refer to “Confirmation of program version” page
