Place the Locking Plate, the ½ “flat washer, the ½ “lock washer and the ½”-13

…
NOTE…
The Locking Plate must be oriented concave-side DOWN…
4.
Tighten the nut just to the point where the mounting plate not longer swivels on
the Mount and then back off to the point where the mounting plate will swivel.
Customer Interface Connections
With the mounting of the SONAbeam optical head completed, you may proceed to make
the necessary customer interfaces to your Customer Interface Box.
Your Customer Interface Box will need to provide appropriate cable feeds and
terminations – for the electrical, the link network (SM or MM fiber) and Ethernet and/or
serial interface(s) (CAT5 UTP) for SONAbeam management – necessary to deploy your
FSO link. In most cases, the installation of these services will result in the provisioning of
termination/coupling points inside the Customer Interface Box; although the ability to
directly connect the services to the SONAbeam terminal is also an option.
NOTE…
While the typical SONAbeam installation includes a CAT 5/6 cable interface to manage
the terminal through a LAN connection, a secondary CAT 5 cable interface to your
terminals’ Serial Console Ports can pay enormous dividends as a backup connection.
The ‘insurance’ provided by a secondary, serial connection to your terminal is
especially prudent when the SONAbeam is mounted in difficult to reach locations!
At the very least, a secondary, serial interface from your SONAbeam to your Customer
Interface Box will provide access to complete diagnostic capabilities from that location.
Building your interface between the SONAbeam terminal and your Customer Interface
Box comprises the following operations:
Sizing the Liquid-Tight conduit needed between the terminal and the Customer
Interface Box and preparing both unfinished conduit ends…
Threading your power, your serial and/or Ethernet, and your fiber optic cabling
through the finished conduit…
Attaching the ends of the finished conduit to the terminal and the Customer
Interface Box and terminating/connecting all of the interface cables…
This section details these operations.
