Verifying Initial Power Up Operation
The E-Series terminal offers you a number
of indicator LED’s in the Customer Interface
Area to convey the operational status of
your terminal.
These operational indicators are described
below.

SONAbeam Terminal Status LED’s
Your SONAbeam E-Series terminal provides the following operational status indicators:
SYS READY –
When power is applied to the terminal, this LED initially illuminates to
indicate the terminal is powered on. After a few seconds the LED will FLASH on & off
to indicate your terminal is ready for operation.
FIBER INPUT –
This LED indicates that your terminal detects an input signal from your
network on the
RX
fibre (or wired input depending on the terminal’s SFP transceiver) and
it synchronizes with the terminal’s configured Data Rate.
RCV LOCK –
This LED indicates that your terminal’s incoming free-space received
signal is locked to the crystal-controlled Data Rate that is currently configured for
terminal. (When your terminal is configured to operate in
Bypass
mode or at a non
crystal-controlled data rate, this LED is always OFF.)
LOOP INPUT –
This LED indicates that your
terminal is currently configured (temporarily for
diagnostics using STC software) so that the fibre
(or copper) signal received at the terminal’s RX
port is transmitted back directly to its TX port,
with no FSO signal transmitted. This condition
allows you to test your network cabling to your
terminal.
LOOP LINK –
This LED indicates that your
terminal is currently configured (temporarily for
diagnostics using STC software) so that the FSO
signal that it receives is transmitted back directly
to the other terminal, bypassing all transceiver
circuitry. This condition allows you to test your
FSO link.
