Deploying Your
SONAbeam Link
After installing and aligning your SONAbeam terminals, all that remains is the actual
deployment of your optical SONAbeam link. After removing the test equipment attached
to each SONAbeam for its alignment and replacing the covers to the Customer Interface
Compartment and any applicable Customer Interface Boxes, this final operation can be
simply described as plug ‘n play, wherein the fiber optic connections to your
SONAbeams at both sides are terminated to their appropriate network ports and data
exchanges across your link are conducted and verified.

Contact the appropriate Network Management personnel prior to initiating the
live deployment of the SONAbeam link…
The actual process by which this operation is conducted will depend upon exactly how
you apply your SONAbeam link and what sorts of networking apparatus you deploy with
your link.
NOTE…
It is best to include your Network Management personnel in devising and
implementing a realistic deployment plan suited to the specific application of
your SONAbeam Link…
Putting SONAbeam Link to Work
Once you have completed and verified deployment of your SONAbeam Optical Wireless
Link, the system will offer you years of virtually maintenance-free service of transporting
data between your installation sites.
Furthermore, if you optionally implemented SNMP Agents for your SONAbeams, you
can use any SNMP compliant Network Management tools to remotely monitor your
SONAbeam terminals’ performance and/or automatically trap irregularities.
