Providing a dedicated branch circuit for your power feed can eliminate scores of
disruptive problems once the SONAbeam terminals
are commissioned…
Know the location of any associated switches and/or breakers…
To improve system reliability and electromagnetic compatibility, it is strongly
recommended to provide a low impedance ground conductor between the
mounting mast and a grounded building structure…
Line of Sight Clarity
It is imperative that SONAbeam terminals be located in associated positions that provide
clear and unobstructed line of sight between communicating SONAbeam terminals.
WARNING!
Consider the possibility of future developments when choosing your sites. A clear
line-of-site may be the case today, but what about ‘tomorrow’? The possibility of
future construction, added heating vents or HVAC equipment, smoke stacks, tree
growth, etc. may interrupt your installed link somewhere down the road…
Keep in mind the likelihood of temporary or seasonal obstructions that may
come between your communicating SONAbeam terminals…
Generating a Rooftop Site Map
The creation of an accurately dimensioned rooftop site map will provide invaluable
information for your eventual installation. The inclusion of digital photographs can be of
great value in this endeavour.
Having determined appropriate locations for the SONAbeam terminals and their
associated power, ground and communications feeds, a dimensioned rooftop map
indicating these locations and routes should be completed.
NOTE…
When locating terminals on your Site Map, be certain to include the estimated
azimuth and elevation to which each terminal will be aimed…
A well-crafted Site Map will prove to be a valuable asset, ensuring a well-planned and
successful installation.
