Infrared communication
You can send and receive data to/from other FOMA
terminals, mobile phones or PCs equipped with the
infrared communication function. i-

You can send and receive data to/from other FOMA
terminals equipped with the iC transmission function by
placing FeliCa marks close to each other. i-

Precautions for using infrared
communication/iC transmission

Infrared communication or iC transmission cannot be
used with packet communication, 64K data
communication or data transfer by connecting with PC
at the same time.
･

service area) during infrared communication or iC
transmission or while operating INBOX, the terminal is
not available for phone calls, i-mode operation or data
communication. Also, you cannot switch to other

The infrared communication function of FOMA
terminal conforms to IrMC 1.1. Even if the other party's
terminal conforms to IrMC 1.1, some data may not be
received/sent depending on the data type.
◆ Using infrared communication
･
The maximum communication range for infrared
communication is about 20 cm. Keep the FOMA
terminal pointing at the other device's infrared data
port and do not move it until data sending/receiving
completes.

The infrared ray radiation angle is 15 degrees or less
from the center.

INFORMATION
･
Infrared communication may not be performed properly in
areas exposed to direct sunlight or directly under
fluorescent lights.
◆ Using iC transmission
･
When doing iC transmission, make FeliCa marks of the
sender and receiver terminals face close to each other
with a distance of about 1 cm or less. Do not move the
FOMA terminals before data sending/receiving
completes.
･
If communication is not started by facing FeliCa mark of
both terminals over each other, shift the facing position
about 5-10 mm.

INFORMATION

When placing FeliCa marks close to each other, do not give
a strong shock to FOMA terminals.

It may be difficult to exchange data depending on the
terminal of the other party.
