IMPORTANT WARNINGS
• Make sure your pet has a standard ISO microchip with 15 digits FDXb (unified
system, worldwide approved and used). The product will not identify other
kinds of microchips. If you use the microchip provided with the included collar,
the system correct working is granted only if your pet does not have other
implanted microchips.
• Do not pour with any liquid on the pet door, especially on the battery or the
control panel area; this may damage the batteries and the sophisticated
electronic board inside the product.
• If the pet flap is fitted on a door, pay attention not to slam it; in case it
happens, please check the product good working (i.e.: put the flap in the
manual mode and check if the electric power is working and if the flap
correctly opens and closes). If it doesn’t work, check if the batteries are placed
correctly inside their compartment and if they touch the contact sheets; in
case they don’t, the sheets can be easily adjusted. Also periodically check if the
batteries are oxidised because this will prevent the electric contact. NB: if the
battery are removed the recorded microchips will be saved and kept even
without power and you don’t’ need to record them again.
• The electronic device does not work near metal objects, which could interfere
with the reliable operational efficiency. If installed in double-glazed doors,
where there is a metal strip in between the panes, this must not be in contact
with the flap and properly isolated. The electronic system does not work if the
flap is installed to metal doors, metal doors covered in uPVC (Ultra Resistant
Polyvinyl Chloride), doors with metal panels or security doors. The door must
be isolated. (see paragraph “Metal doors”).
• IMPORTANT! Do not cut the tunnel of the SWING MICROCHIP and SWING
MICROCHIP LARGE flaps because it contains delicate mechanism!
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Make sure the batteries are placed in the correct order (see picture inside their
compartment). Placing the batteries in the inverted order may damage the
product.
• Disposal of batteries must be done according to applicable regulations.
• Do not expose the appliance, especially the battery, to high temperatures.
• The microchip flap works properly only if the microchip in implanted on the
pet’s neck, this one being not further than 20 cm from his nose.
• Only use good quality alkaline batteries (1.5V AA LR6 for SWING MICROCHIP
and 1.5V C LR14 for SWING MICROCHIP LARGE) in order to ensure a good
product working.
• The pet flap is not able not read two microchip codes at the same time, i.e. the
microchip provided with the collar and the one implanted on the pet.
• The microchip will be detected only when the pet interrupts the IR ray inside
the tunnel.
• In case of bad product working or delay in detecting the microchip, it is
recommended to reset the door by taking away and re-introducing the
batteries.
IMPORTANT
Within the European Union, a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the product, documentation or packaging
indicates that the product cannot be disposed of in the regular household waste stream, in compliance with
EU Directive 2012/19/EC and with current local regulations. The product must be disposed of at recycling
centres or authorised waste disposal centres for electrical and electronic equipment, in accordance with
current legislation in the country where the product is found. Incorrect disposal of this type of waste can have
a negative impact on the environment and human health, caused by the potentially hazardous substances
produce by electrical and electronic equipment. Correct disposal of these products will also contribute to the
efficient use of natural resources. Further information is available from the product retailer, the competent
local authorities and national manufacturer’s organisations.
SWING MICROCHIP & SWING MICROCHIP LARGE:
MORE FREEDOM FOR YOUR PET, MORE SAFETY FOR YOURSELF
The SWING flap is as useful for your pet as it is for you. You can use it to set him free to come in and out of
your house, giving him freedom that would otherwise be denied. At the same time, thanks to the
microchip working, you will be sure you won’t have any unwanted guests in your home. Besides, with all
its functions the SWING MICROCHIP flap can be made to fit all your requirements: you can allow your pet
to re-enter but not to go back out. You can arrange it so that the flap opens just for him. You can even see,
with just one glance, if he is indoors or outdoors. Let’s see how.
The microchip system: a key especially for him.
The flaps are equipped with an innovative electronic system, which allows identifying only your pet,
having an implanted microchip or wearing the provided collar with microchip. When your pet approaches
the door, the sophisticated device will detect the previously recorded microchip and will unlock the door.
If the microchip will not be identified, the door will not open thus preventing unknown pets from entering
in your house.
ALL THE ADVATAGES OF SWING MICROCHIP FLAPS
• Recording capacity
SWING MICROCHIP can record up to 32 different microchips, being ISO 11784 with 15 digits (
Fig.7A
).
SWING MICROCHIP LARGE can record up to 30 different microchips, being ISO 11784 with 15 digits
(
Fig.7B
).
• The 4-way locking system: you’ll decide! (Fig.1)
The SWING pet flaps has been designed to meet all your requirements and those of your pet. For this
reason you can rely on the original 4-way locking system that enables you to control the usage by your
pet. You can choose between the following: ACCESS ONLY / EXIT ONLY / ACCESS AND EXIT / CLOSED.
• Windstopper system (Fig.8)
It’s the innovative system preventing draughts.
• The last in or out direction indicator: you always know where they are (Fig.2)
SWING MICROCHIP uses the last IN or OUT direction indicator. It is a system that will help you know
whether your pet is indoors or outdoors. This feature is useful if you have to go out and you can’t find your
pet. A quick glance is sufficient: the “flag” (see picture) on the bottom part of the flap will point in the last
direction in which he went through the flap after it closed. (This devide is not available on SWING
MICROCHIP LARGE model).
Warning!
In severe weather conditions (wind, etc.) the total reliability of this system cannot be
guaranteed. If your pet should open the flap without actually going through the tunnel, the indicator
would not be reliable.
HOW TO TEACH YOUR PET TO USE THE SWING FLAP
To teach your pet how to use the SWING MICROCHIP flap is much easier than you think. It is important not
to expect too much from him but to let him learn in his own time. The easiest way for your pet to discover
it is to leave the flap completely open. Animals are curious by nature and will be quickly tempted to go
through the open flap towards freedom. If this is not the case – and your pet isn’t that adventurous – you
