Configuring the controller
The Controller (MLC) Config. tab, shown below, is where you configure the
controller and initiate IR Learning through software. This tab lets you perform
IR Learning of commands to MLC button memory blocks, pick and assign IR or
RS-232 driver functions to memory blocks, remove programming from buttons,
and group buttons to operate in a mutually exclusive operation (switch pattern).

Overview of the Controller (MLC) Config. tab
The Controller (MLC) Config. tab contains graphical representations of the
MLC 52 and the IR 452 remote control. When you click on the button
representations in these diagrams, menus are displayed, enabling you to
configure the MLC 52 and its remote control.
The software shows a one-gang sized model on this tab. However, the
buttons on all of the MLC 52 models are configured by the same methods.
The Programming Legend below the MLC 52 diagram shows the following:
•
A
green
dot on a button in MLC 52 or the IR 452 diagram indicates that an
RS-232 code has been associated with one of that button’s memory blocks.
•
A
red
dot on a button indicates that an IR code has been learned for one of
that button’s memory blocks.
•
If the button displays no colored dots (all empty circles), there is no code
stored in that button’s memory blocks.
Each button has four memory blocks, which are indicated by four
circles on the button diagram. As each memory block is
programmed, the circle becomes a red or green dot. The button
shown at right has an RS-232 command in the first memory block
(the first dot is green) and an IR command in the second memory
block (the second dot is red).
