11.19 SETTING THE LIMIT ON RECEIVED BROADCAST FRAMES
You can enable or disable broadcast control on the device, and configure each port to limit the
number of received broadcast frames that will be forwarded.
1. Select the Device Control Menu from the Main Menu.
2. Select Broadcast Storm Control Configuration from the Device Control Menu screen.
11.19.1 Setting the Threshold Value on Individual Ports
To set the Threshold on an individual port on the Broadcast Storm Control Configuration screen,
described in
Section 7.17 , proceed as follows:
1. Use the Tab key to highlight the field in the Threshold column associated with the desired port.
2. Type in a threshold value from 100 to N.
3. Press ENTER.
4. Use the Tab key to highlight the associated ENABLED/DISABLED field in the Broadcast
Control column.
5. Press the SPACE bar to either enable or disable the Threshold function for that port. You can
also wait until you have set all the Threshold values and then enable or disable all ports at once
as described in
Section 11.19.2 .
6. Press ENTER.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for any additional ports to be set.
8. After you have set the ports, use the Tab key to highlight the <SAVE> command at the bottom
of the screen.
9. Press ENTER to save your settings.
11.19.2 Enabling/Disabling Threshold Function on All Ports
To enable or disable the Threshold function on all ports simultaneously, proceed as follows:
1. Use the Tab key to highlight the [Enable] or [Disable] field for “ Broadcast control on all ports”.
2. Press ENTER.
3. Use the Tab key to highlight the <SAVE> command at the bottom of the screen.
4. Press ENTER to save the setting.
