4 m ot ors:
The procedure for installing a 4 m ot ors m anoeuvring system on a t win axle caravan is sim ilar t han for a single
axle caravan but t hen wit h t wo set s of m anoeuvring syst em .
Follow t he procedure for
inst alling t he m echanical com ponent s
twice: one tim e for the m anoeuvring set
m ounted in front of the twin axle and one t im e for the m anoeuvring set m ounted behind the twin axle.
Follow t he procedure for
inst alling t he elect rical/ elect ronic com ponent s
t wice: one t im e for t he
m anoeuvring set m ounted in front of the twin axle and one tim e for the m anoeuvring set m ounted behind the
twin axle.
N ot e:
When inst alling t he four m ot ors it will be necessary t o use
one
higher capacit y bat t ery t o supply bot h
set s of m anoeuvring syst em ( including t wo electronic cont rol unit s and t wo of battery power isolat ion switches) .
Do not use t wo separat e bat t eries for a 4 m ot ors m anoeuvring system on a twin axle caravan.
Now
b o t h
elect ronic cont rol unit s ( 4) m ust be prepared for t win axle use:
Turn off t he bat t ery power isolat ion swit ch and m ove t he single/ twin axle function swit ch ( Fig 3S/ T) on the
control unit to the twin axle position ( Fig. 3T) , so that the m anoeuvring system can be used for a twin axle
caravan. I n t he t win axle funct ion when m aking curves, all wheels will drive but at a different speed.
Finally bot h elect ronic cont rol unit s ( 4) m ust be prepared for the use of only one rem ot e handset ( 32) . The
rem ot e handset need to be synchronised wit h both electronic control unit s using t he following procedure:
Check the inst allation in accordance wit h t he installat ion instructions and ensure t hat t he drive rollers are
not applied. Check t hat t he bat t ery is properly connect ed, check the condition of t he batt ery and that a
voltage of 12V is present at t he cont rol unit .
Please ensure that both batt ery isolation switches are on.
Act ivat e the rem ot e control handset by sliding the slide swit ch to “ On” - I ( Fig. 5A) . The green LED on the
rem ot e cont rol handset ( Fig. 5H) st art s t o flash slowly.
Press the reset button ( Fig. 3A) on t he control unit . All t hree LED’s on t he control unit ( Fig. 3B, 3C & 3D)
will flash slowly.
Press bot h forwards ( Fig. 5B) and reverse ( Fig. 5C) button on the rem ote control handset for about 3
seconds. Then the handset buzzer will give a short beep to confirm t hat the synchronisation is com plete.
After successful synchronisation, t he green LED on the cont rol unit ( Fig. 3B) and on t he rem ot e cont rol
handset ( Fig. 5H) will illum inate cont inuously.
Repeat this procedure with t he second electronic control unit .
Turn t he rem ot e handset “ Off” and t hen “ On” again so both control unit s will be act ivat ed.
The installation of the caravan m anoeuvring syst em for twin axle use is now com plete. For details of the
operat ion, use and all t he LED and but ton funct ions, please refer t o t he st andard chapt ers of t his m anual.
OPERATI ON – SAFETY GUI DELI N ES
Pract ice operat ing t he m anoeuvring syst em in an open area before using for t he first t im e. This is t o fully
fam iliarise yourself wit h t he handset / m anoeuvring system operat ion.
Before use, always check t he caravan m anoeuvring system for any dam age.
When towing or m oving the caravan please be aware, at all t im es, t hat ground clearance is reduced
when the m anoeuvring system has been fit t ed.
Always ensure that children and pet s are kept well out of t he way during operat ion.
When operating t he system , ensure t hat no hairs, fingers or ot her body part s, clothing or any other
obj ect s carried on t he body can becom e t rapped by m oving or rot at ing part s ( e.g. drive rollers) .
I n the event of m alfunctions, pull on t he handbrake im m ediat ely and t urn off the m ain isolat ion power
switch.
To m aint ain signal st rengt h, always m ake sure t hat , during m anoeuvring, the distance between the
rem ot e control and the caravan does not exceed 5 m etres.
Due t o t he nat ure of a radio signal, it can get corrupted by ext ernal t errain or obj ect s. So t here m ay be
sm all areas around t he caravan where the quality of recept ion reduces, hence the m anoeuvring system
m ay stop m om entarily.
Always be aware that the m anoeuvring syst em increases t he weight of your caravan or t railer. So t his
reduces t he payload of t he caravan.
Do not exceed the total safe working load of 1800kg laden weight ( caravan including load) when 2
m otors are used and 2500kg laden weight ( caravan including load) when 4 m otors ( twin axle) are used
.
