Section 4 Commissioning
These commissioning checks may interfere with the power supply to the load. Therefore
they should not be carried out with a mission-critical load connected to the system.
4.1 Manual operation
1. Check that the unit is correctly wired and that the wiring is of a standard and rating
compatible with the system.
2. Check that the correct fuses are fitted.
3. Program the unit as detailed in
Section 3 Definition Of Front Panel And Programming.
4. Take temporary steps to prevent the engine from starting . (for example, disable the
fuel solenoid.)
5. After a visual inspection to ensure it is safe to proceed, connect the battery supply.
6. On the EAOM-210 FLJ, press the
Man

button. The associated LED (12) should light.
7. Press the
Engine Start
(21) button. At this moment the LED (7) lights on.
8. Check that the engine start sequence commences. The starter motor should run for the
programmed time period (cranking time) for the pre-set number of times (number of start
attempts).
9. Check that the
Failed to Start
LED flashes and the LED (7) lights off.
10. Check the unit will change to the OFF mode and the LED (9) lights on.
11. Restore the engine to operational state (reconnect the fuel solenoid).
12. Press the
Man

button. The LED (12) will light on.
13. Press the
Engine Start
(21)
button. The LED (7) will light on.
14. Check the start sequence, as follows:
the starter motor runs
the engine starts
the starter motor disengages once the engine is running.
If not, check that the engine is fully operational (fuel available etc.) and check the wiring
and programming of the EAOM-210 FLJ.
15. Check that the engine runs up to its operating speed. If not and an alarm is present,
check that the alarm is valid and then check the input wiring.
16. Press the
Engine Stop

button. At this moment the LED (8) will light on. The engine
should stop. Allow time for the engine to come to rest.
