A special measurement unit allows you to report process data, totalizer data, and inventory data in a
unit that is not hard-coded in the transmitter. A special measurement unit is calculated from an existing
measurement unit using a conversion factor.
Restriction
Although you cannot define a special measurement unit using the display, you can use the display to
select an existing special measurement unit and to view process data.
Procedure
1.
Specify
Base Gas Standard Volume Unit
.
Base Gas Standard Volume Unit
is the existing Gas Standard Volume unit that the special unit will be
based on.
2.
Specify
Base Time Unit
.
Base Time Unit
is the existing time unit that the special unit will be based on.
3.
Calculate
Gas Standard Volume Flow Conversion Factor
as follows:
a.
x base units = y special units
b.
Gas Standard Volume Flow Conversion Factor
= x/y
4.
Enter the
Gas Standard Volume Flow Conversion Factor
.
5.
Set
Gas Standard Volume Flow Label
to the label to be used for the Gas Standard Volume flow unit.
6.
Set
Gas Standard Volume Total Label
to the label to be used for the Gas Standard Volume total and
Gas Standard Volume inventory unit.
The special measurement unit is stored in the transmitter. You can configure the transmitter to use the
special measurement unit at any time.
