MEDEA Programming Manual

The following information is shown for each input:

LOGIC ID

: This is the logical identification with which the input is recognised by the control panel.

PHIS ADDRESS

: This is the physical address of the input (device and position). All the physical and

wireless inputs enabled with the Punti (In/Out) submenu described in the paragraph 4.8 PrIO (In/Out)
are listed. The address consists of a string of characters made up as follows: two letters indicating the
type of device (

UC

 = control panel,

EP

 = expansion module,

KP

 = keypad,

DK

 = key reader,

RM

 =

wireless), the sequential number of that type of device (if there are several devices of the same type),
a separating point and the sequential number of the point. For example: EP01.3 identifies point 3 of
expansion number 1.

SECTORS

: These are the sectors with which the input is associated (an input can belong to more than

one sector).

DESCRIPTION

: This is the alphanumeric label used to identify the input more easily, e.g. "Bathroom

window". With the Generate audio function (see

paragraph 5.12 Audio

) the text entered is converted

into an audio file for use in voice messages. The description can be up to 32 characters long, chosen
from alphabetical characters, including accented characters, numbers and space; no other characters,
such as special characters or symbols, can be used.

SPECIALIZATION

: This indicates the way in which the input is taken and managed. The control panel

will activate the respective devices (outputs, sirens and telephone dialler) according to the selected
type. The possible specialisations are:

o

Instantaneous

: The opening of the input generates the intrusion alarm when:

The input has an AND type association and the sectors to which it belongs are all armed

the input has an OR type association and at least one of the sector to which it belongs is
armed.

o

Entrance Delay 1

: Opening the input generates the intrusion alarm after the "Entrance Delay 1"

delay time set in the Sector Times submenu has elapsed. It is used when a detector could be
triggered  by  the  passage  of  the  user,  e.g.  the  magnetic  contact  of  the  entrance  door,  before
reaching  the  control  device.  This  allows  the  user  to  enter  and  disarm  the  intrusion  detection
system without the alarm going off.

o

Entrance Delay 2

: As

Entrance Delay 1

but with “

Entrance Delay

2” delay time.

o

Entrance Delay 3

: As

Entrance Delay 1

but with “

Entrance Delay

3” delay time.

o

Manumission

:  The  opening  of  the  input  generates  the  Tamper  event  regardless  of  the  sector

arming status. The input is active H24.

o

Technological

: The opening of the input generates a technological type event regardless of the

sector arming status. The input is active H24. IMPORTANT! Not compliant with EN 50131.

o

Path

: The opening the input triggers the intrusion alarm, unless the Entry Delay 1 time is elapsing

activated by a first specialised input

First entrance

 or

First entrance

/Last Exit

 of:

All sectors with AND type association to which the input belongs or

At least one of the sectors with OR type association to which the input belongs.

If the “

Entrance Delay

1” time is not being counted down, the opening of the input generates an

intrusion alarm immediately.

o

Instantaneous w/auto-inclusion

: If the input is closed when the intrusion alarm system is armed,

it causes an instantaneous alarm; otherwise, it is temporarily bypassed if the input is open. If the
input is closed after the intrusion detection system has been armed, it will reset itself and become
active.  The

Reinsertion

option,  which  appears  in  programming  when  you  set  an  input  as  a

Instantaneous w/auto-inclusion

, defines the behaviour of the input once it is closed. If set to

Never

the input does not reset itself if it is closed again with the intrusion alarm system armed.

o

Key

:  The  opening  of  the  input  arms  or  disarms  all  the  sectors  assigned  to  it  by  reversing  the

respective state (the sectors will be disarmed if they are not, and vice versa). All sectors will be
disarmed if some are armed and some are disarmed. IMPORTANT! Not compliant with EN 50131.

o

Duress

: The opening of the input generates the hold-up indication regardless of the sector arming

status. The input is active H24.

o

Fault

: The opening of the input generates the Failure event regardless of the sector arming status.

The input is active H24. IMPORTANT! To ensure compliance with EN 50131, it is necessary to
configure at least one

Fault

input to manage any fault signal coming from the system, in particular

from the external siren.
