- Make sure that the frame is completely unfolded and
securely placed on a flat surface. Start pedalling.
16_POWER SUPPLY
- TUO feature electronic circuitry inside and is powered up by
a standard power supply (included).
Insert the power supply in the electrical outlet and the jack
plug in the connector on the back of the TUO, a slight vibration
indicates that the system is adjusting to its initial position. This
can last up to 15 seconds.
The TUO compliance with EU laws (see “Declaration of
conformity”, page 114) may be voided if a charger different
from the original is used.
17_USING THE UNIT
TUO is ready for use after mounting the unit to the frame.
You will need a compatible app, computer and software to
display data and adjust resistance.
The pairing, data collection and resistance-adjustment
phases use the ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart protocols, while
the various modes will depend on the app/cycle computer.
The connection procedure and the use of the device
depends on the device itself and the software / app you
wish to use. Check the software / app for instructions on
how to connect and for use during training.
18_USING THE TUO WITH THE SOFTWARE /
APP / DEVICE
We suggest using the My E-Training software/app, available
on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS.
My E-Training is a complete system with several training
modes, including videos, configurable software, Google Maps
races, Internet competitions and much more.
It's possible to use third-party software that is compatible with
the hometrainer communications protocol/standards. There
are several software/apps/devices currently on the market
that can connect to the TUO.
Please refer to the instructions for the specific software/app/
device for a proper connection to the hometrainer.
Before beginning the connection procedure with any app,
make sure that the hometrainer is powered up and is not on
the energy saver mode. The supplied hometrainer charger
must be connected to a power source.
The hometrainer motherboard features LED lights indicating
the current hometrainer status. Please check the "Status LED
lights" paragraph for an in-depth description.
19_REMOVING THE BICYCLE
Please follow this procedure to remove the bicycle:
- Release the pre-load on the elastogel roller by rotating the
over-run lever (Ref. Z) (Pic. 43).
- Remove the power supply from the hometrainer by
disconnecting the jack plug of the power charger from the
resistance unit.
- Raise the clamping lever of the frame (Ref. W) (Pic. 30) and
at the same time support the bicycle saddle with the other
hand so it doesn't fall over.
- Lift the bicycle and remove it from the stand.
For transport, or to save space, we suggest folding the legs of
the frame and pushing the resistance unit inwards
- Untighten and then pull out the selector to rotate the unit.
- During long periods of inactivity and in case of long
travels, it is advisable to completely remove the resistance
unit from the trainer base and store it in it’s original
packaging.
20_TROUBLESHOOTING
If the hometrainer does not connect to the app/
software:
the hometrainer needs to be properly powered up to work
and it needs to connect to a device within 15 minutes,
otherwise it will automatically enter its energy saving phase.
Start pedaling or unplug it and plug it in again to reactivate
it, and then connect to a device within 15 minutes.
Displayed speed is too high (more than 100km/h).
the circumference of the roller on the device you're using has
likely been incorrectly set.
TUO sends training data based on various protocols. One of
these is the speed sensor protocol. If the device you're using
to display speed data employs such protocol, you need to
change the wheel circumference that had been previously
set.
The correct value to set for the wheel circumference on the
TUO is 47 mm
21_PACKAGING
If the roller needs to be shipped, careful packaging is critical:
- remove the charger cable from the TUO;
- pack up the TUO in its original box.
During shipments, packs often undergo mistreatment and
very hard impacts, therefore inadequate packing can result in
permanent damage to the roller. This type of damage is not
covered by the warranty.
Note: before sending the roller or any other component
assistance, always firstly consult Elite or the distributor.
Any items received without prior agreement will be rejected.
22_ADVICE:
- For less tyre wear and better grip on the roller, it is
advisable to use tyres of 23 mm width.
- For quieter use, better grip of the tyre on the roller and
reduced vibration, use slick tyres (also for Mountain bikes).
