Machine Options Configuration for a Nitrogen Machine
Introduction
Options configuration is preset at the factory. The “Inerting” option must be
selected to gain access to the Inert Machine Configuration/Calibration Screen.
Choose “Configure > Options” from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click
on the button labeled “Configure” next to the Inerting option to view the inert
configuration screen.
Software Screen
The box next to “Inerting” in the column beneath “Machine” must be selected to
access the nitrogen machine configuration screen.

Inert vs. Air
Calibrations
Default values are set at the factory and are depicted in Figure 3–8. Note that the
blower in Zone 1 operates at a different speed than the other blowers. This is to
promote low ppm levels of oxygen and enhance the inerting effect. When the
machine operates in a nitrogen environment, optimal performance is achieved if
the blower in Zone 1 is calibrated separately. If nitrogen is not going to be used,
selecting the box next to “Operate as Air Machine” causes the blower in Zone 1
to synchronize with the other blowers.
ATTENTION
Operating the machine in a nitrogen environment when “Operate as Air Machine”
is selected causes the need to use more nitrogen to maintain oxygen ppm levels.
Coolant Solenoid
Control
The coolant solenoid remains open when the heaters are On. If the heaters are
Off, the coolant solenoid opens when the temperature reaches 80° C (176° F).
The solenoid closes when the temperature falls below 60° C (140° F). The
pressure build–up in the heat exchangers is minimized through this process.
