Thermal Shutdown
Introduction
Thermal Runaway High Temperature Safety Circuit hardware is located in the
Electrical Cabinet. If a thermal runaway occurs, an alarm generates and the
monitor indicates that the circuit activated by displaying the Current Alarms
Screen.
Locating the Thermal
Runaway Alarm
Hardware
To determine the location of the tripped alarm, it is necessary to inspect the Hi
Temp Safety Hardware located in the Electrical Cabinet. LEDs are located on the
hardware. They are indicated by the red blocks in the photograph. Refer to
Figure 10–2. If a LED is red, it indicates a tripped circuit.

Interpreting the
Thermal Runaway
Alarm Software
Use the position guide represented in Figure 10–3 to determine the location of
the tripped circuit. Access the window by selecting Maint/Diag > Thermal
Runaway from the menu bar at the top of the screen. The display corresponds to
the LEDs located on the hardware.
Resetting the Circuit
Reset the circuit using software by clicking on the Reset button located on the
Thermal Runaway window.
Reset the circuit in hardware by turning the Main DIsconnect Switch Off and then
On again. Alternately, press the Reset switch on the Watlo meter in the Electrical
Cabinet that monitors the High Temperature Safety Circuit.
