Third-Party Software
Several third-party topside software applications are capable of acquiring and processing Bathymetry and
Side Scan data from EdgeTech systems. Currently, Hypack, SonarWiz, Beamworx, and Qinsy software
packages have been approved, and work continues to expand the number of compatible topsides. CARIS
HIPS/SIPS and SonarWiz support our native JSF files for post-processing.
For further information on third-party interfacing with Discover Bathymetry, refer to the
section of this manual.

Sonar Deck Cable
The sonar deck cable is a 20-meter (65 ft) underwater, high-speed network data
and power cable that connects the sonar head to the topside. The deck cable
includes Cat 5e 4-pair stranded conductors that meet or exceed TIA 568-B and
is suitable for 10Base-T and 100Base-T. The deck cable is terminated with a 16-
pin wet mate connector on both ends, has a breaking strength of 545 kg (1200
lbs), and provides power and telemetry to 6205s2 Sonar Head. Refer to
for a wiring diagram of this cable.

Adaptor Flange Kit
An adaptor flange kit is available if the standard 6205s2 three-hole
pattern will not mate with a customer’s static pole mount or flange.
The kit includes a durable adaptor flange plate that is designed to be
attached to the 6205s2 mounting plate using the kit’s included
hardware. Kit instructions are found in this manual’s
