You can leave a text message at another system station and
conversely, any system station can leave a message at your station.
The message lamp flashes when there is a message. The message
consists of simple text, such as
CALL SUSAN
, or
CALL VOICE
which is displayed on the system lines.
To View and Answer Messages left at your station:
Press

. The top system line describes who called. Choose one
of the following:

: To view the next message. If there are no other messages,
LIST END
appears on the top line of the display.

: To view the previous message. If there is no previous
message, then you are at the beginning of the list and
List
Start
appears on the top line of the display.
•

: To cancel the message and the flashing message lamp
without calling back the message sender.
•
>&DOO%DFN@
: To call back the message sender (name is displayed on
the top system line). The message lamp is turned off if there are
no other messages.

: To leave a message at another system station.
The message is accompanied by a flashing message waiting
lamp. You will hear a reorder tone when trying to leave a
message at stations not equipped with a flashing message lamp.
Choose a name/number from the displayed Directory or dial a
number.
To Leave a Message at Another System Station from Idle:
1.

to display the Directory.
2.
Choose a station from the Directory or dial a number.
To Leave a Message at Another System Station when Station is Busy
or Not Answering:

while hearing the busy or ringback tone.

The message originator can cancel messages left at another station.

If your system is equipped with a music source, you may choose to
listen to music through your telephone speaker, when the GKT is in
idle mode. Use

to turn the Music on or off. This is a
toggle switch.
Music is automatically suspended during calls. Music can be
changed by using

, see below.
Music volume can be adjusted by using the Volume Up/Down
buttons.
