14. To determine the degrees of Superheat, subtract the saturation temperature from
the suction temperature read at the compressor suction port thermocouple. The
difference in the temperatures is the superheat.
(Superheat, °F) = (Suction Temp., °F) - (Saturation temp., °F)
15. The TXV must be adjusted at installation to be in the
superheat range of 10°F to
15°F.
To adjust the superheat using a 3/16” square refrigeration service wrench,
turn in the clockwise direction to increase superheat. Turn in the
counterclockwise direction to reduce superheat.
One complete turn will change
the superheat by approximately 3°F.
16.
Document the weight of the refrigerant charge in the system.
Write it down on
the
Warranty Registration Card
and inside the compressor unit on the electrical
diagram, for future reference.
This is the full system charge.
