3. Starting Binding

Check that the lamp blinks or lights
up and place a book block in the
clamp.
When the lamp blinks or lights up, you
can place a book block in the clamp. If
you interrupt the light between the safety
sensors when the lamp is off, the machine
stops for safety. In that case, refer to "When
Binding Operations are Interrupted"
( p.3-16).
When the book block you placed in
"1.Placing a Book Block" ( p.3-2) is still in
the clamp, proceed to the step 2.

Check that the lamp lights up and
press the start button.
Although you can place the book
block in the clamp when the lamp is
blinking, binding will not start even if
you press the start button. If the lamp
blinks because a cover has not been
transported to the nipping section from
the paper feed tray or the heater is still
heating up, the lamp will light up when
the machine is ready. If the lamp blinks
because of other reasons, follow an
error message displayed on the screen.
When binding with a cover
Only for the first set of book block, the
caution message and the nipping delay
time setting screen appear.
