Enabling RIP Globally
By default, RIP is not enabled in Dell Networking OS.
To enable RIP globally, use the following commands.
1
Enter ROUTER RIP mode and enable the RIP process on Dell Networking OS.
CONFIGURATION mode
router rip
2
Assign an IP network address as a RIP network to exchange routing information.

Examples of Verifying RIP is Enabled and Viewing RIP Routes
After designating networks with which the system is to exchange RIP information, ensure that all devices on that network are configured
to exchange RIP information.
The Dell Networking OS default is to send RIPv1 and to receive RIPv1 and RIPv2. To change the RIP version globally, use the
version
command in ROUTER RIP mode.
To view the global RIP configuration, use the
show running-config
command in EXEC mode or the
show config
command in
ROUTER RIP mode.
Dell(conf-router_rip)#show config
!
router rip
network 10.0.0.0
Dell(conf-router_rip)#
When the RIP process has learned the RIP routes, use the
show ip rip database
command in EXEC mode to view those routes.
Dell#show ip rip database
Total number of routes in RIP database: 978
