•
Change the priority of the interface, which is used to determine the Designated Router for the OSPF broadcast network.
CONFIG-INTERFACE mode
ip ospf priority
number
•
number
: the range is from 0 to 255 (the default is
1
).
•
Change the retransmission interval between LSAs.
CONFIG-INTERFACE mode
ip ospf retransmit-interval
seconds
•
seconds
: the range is from 1 to 65535 (the default is
5 seconds
).
The retransmit interval must be the same on all routers in the OSPF network.
•
Change the wait period between link state update packets sent out the interface.
CONFIG-INTERFACE mode
ip ospf transmit-delay
seconds
•
seconds
: the range is from 1 to 65535 (the default is
1 second
).
The transmit delay must be the same on all routers in the OSPF network.

Parameter and Viewing Interface Status
To view interface configurations, use the
show config
command in CONFIGURATION INTERFACE mode.
To view interface status in the OSPF process, use the
show ip ospf interface
command in EXEC mode.
The bold lines in the example show the change on the interface. The change is reflected in the OSPF configuration.

Enabling OSPFv2 Authentication
To enable or change various OSPF authentication parameters, use the following commands.
•
Set a clear text authentication scheme on the interface.
CONFIG-INTERFACE mode
ip ospf authentication-key
key
Configure a
key
that is a text string no longer than eight characters.
