configuration mode. To delete a policy map, use the
no
form of this command.

policy-map-name
•
policy-map-name
—Specifies the policy map name.
Default Configuration
The default behavior of the policy map is to set the DSCP value to 0 for IP packets, and to set
the CoS value to 0 if the packet is tagged.

Global Configuration mode
User Guidelines
Before you configure policies for classes whose match criteria are defined in a class map, use
the
policy-map
command to specify the name of the policy map to be created, added to, or
modified.
Entering the
policy-map
command enables the policy-map configuration mode in which the
class policies for that policy map can be configured or modified.
Class policies can be configured in a policy map only if the classes have defined match
criteria. To configure the match criteria for a class, use the
class-map
global configuration and
match
class-map configuration commands. Only one policy map per interface per direction is
supported. The same policy map can be applied to multiple interfaces and directions.
