OPERATING PROCEDURES
Read all of SAFETY and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.
Owner’s Manual
Rear Differential
The rear differential is equipped with a manually actuated lock. A
locked
differential
distributes power to both tires on the axle at all times, which greatly increases trac-
tion. The lock is not intended to be engaged at all times. Its purpose is to free or pre-
vent the vehicle from being stuck as the terrain demands, ideally for short runs at
slow speeds. Always disengage the differential lock as terrain and conditions allow.
Push the lever to the up position to engage the differential lock. Push the lever to the
down position to disengage the lock.
Front Differential
The front differential is activated by the 4WD switch located on the dash. When acti-
vated, and if the rear wheels lose traction, the differential will operate as a locked dif-
ferential and engage both front wheels to increase traction. When the rear wheels
regain traction, the front differential clutch will automatically release and operate as
an open differential.
DUMP BED
Passengers must never be allowed to ride in the dump bed. Severe injury or death could result if
they fall out or if the vehicle is involved in an accident or sudden maneuver.
Be careful when loading the vehicle. Secure loads to prevent movement. Do not overload vehicle. A dump bed warning
label is attached to the inside of the truck bed on the front panel.
This label must be understood and obeyed at all times for safe operation of the vehicle. The dump bed is limited to a
maximum load of 800 lbs. The load must be positioned in the bed as far forward as possible, it’s center of gravity must
not be higher than 12" above the bed floor, and securely fastened down. Failure to follow these instructions can cause
personal injury, damage to the vehicle and/or cause the vehicle to tilt over. Operate the vehicle with awareness of the
load.
Do not drive the vehicle with the dump bed lifted or with the tailgate unsupported.
When using the dump bed, make sure to avoid backing up to the edge of a drop off, such as a loading dock or ravine. A
misjudgment of distance or an unstable surface can cause the vehicle to fall backwards.
WINCH OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED WITH WINCH)
This vehicle may be equipped with an optional winch. Read, understand and follow all of the information supplied with the
winch on the operation and use of the winch before attempting to operate it.
Winch Application
A winch can be used for a number of purposes, including pulling the vehicle, if it loses traction on unsuitable terrain.
Improper use of the winch can result in a number of conditions that can cause severe injury or
death to operator, occupants of vehicle or bystanders.
It is not possible to predict all conditions that the winch can be used, therefore the following warnings must not be consid-
ered as complete. Before operating the winch, understand the possible dangers and take precautions to protect yourself,
your passenger and any bystanders.
