OPERATING PROCEDURES
Read all of SAFETY and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.
Owner’s Manual
To decrease the risk of accidental reverse movement, which can cause severe injury or vehicle
damage, do not release the service brake until the engine has started.
To operate the vehicle:
• Engage the parking brake.
• Move the direction selector to N for Neutral.
• Put the key into the key switch and turn it to the ON position.
• Press the brake pedal and hold it down.
• Turn the key to the right until the engine starts and then release.
• Release the parking brake.
• Move the direction selector to F for forward or R for reverse.
• Release the parking brake.
• Slowly press the accelerator pedal while releasing the pressure on the brake pedal.
• When the accelerator pedal is released, the vehicle will slow down and the engine will idle. To stop the vehicle
quickly, press the brake pedal.
Do not allow the starter to operate continuously for more than 10 seconds. Allow 30 seconds between start-
ing attempts. If the vehicle does not start on the third attempt, turn the key switch off and find the cause of
the problem.
How to Start the Vehicle on a Hill
To decrease the risk of accidental reverse movement, which can cause severe injury or vehicle
damage, do not release the service brake until the engine has started.
Do not hold vehicle on a hill by using accelerator and engine. This will cause premature and excessive wear
to the drive train components.
To decrease the risk of permanent damage to the drive system, always prevent excessive reverse movement when start-
ing the vehicle on a hill.
Position left foot on the service brake and release the parking brake. Press the accelerator with right foot and release the
service brake by lifting left foot.
