18. Handling
Observe all safety tips in these operating instructions.
The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children.
Install the alarm dialer out of reach of children. The same is the case for possibly existing smoke
detectors (if you have bought them in addition).
With "KeyMatic CAC" this is often not possible. Depending on the age of the children they have to
instructed accordingly on the operation of the basic functions (access, opening doors etc). Note the
corresponding notes in the operating instructions for "KeyMatic CAC".
The following unfavorable conditions at the installation site, during operation or transport are to be
avoided :
- wetness or too high air humidity
- extreme coldness (<0°C) or heat (>50°C), direct sunlight
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations, shocks, impacts
- strong magnetic fields such as near machines or loudspeakers
The operation of the "AW50" alarm dialer and the "RM50" radio smoke detector is only permitted in
dry, closed indoors. The devices must not get damp or wet.
The "KeyMatic CAC" can be installed and operated in a protected outdoor area. Please note the
operating instructions for "KeyMatic CAC".
Never paint over smoke detectors, don’t stick wall papers on them. Doing this disturbs the smoke
detector’s function and an alarm in the case of a fire is prevented.
As a matter of principle smoke detectors give off loud signals. In isolated cases they can
lead to impairment of the human hearing.
Animals can also display unusual reactions due to the signals.
However, an alarm in the case of a fire is more important than these side effects. This
is why a reduction of the sound intensity is not possible.
Never take the product apart (apart from the described works during installation and change of
battery, described in these operating instructions).
When setting the device up or during installation of the "AW50" alarm dialer, make sure the cables
are not bent or jammed. Place the cables in a way so that nobody can falling over it.
