9. Operation of the alarm dialler
In normal operation several different actions can take place:
1. Alarm through "KeyMatic CAC"
"KeyMatic CAC" can be programmed which three voice messages (message 1, 2 or 3) is to be
played in case of an alarm. Please note the operating instructions for "KeyMatic CAC".
2. Smoke alarm
If a "RM50" radio smoke detector is triggered, the "AW50" alarm dialer dials the programmed
telephone number in storage space 1 first. If the call is taken, the message of the smoke alarm is
played-back (message 1).
If the first telephone number doesn’t take the call after approx. 1 minute, the alarm dialer will dial
the telephone numbers of the consecutive storage spaces 2 and 3 in the same way.
The minute is made up of 30 seconds trying to dial and 30 play-back of the message
(message 1). Doing this, makes sure that the message is received by the participants,
whose telephone system has deviant telephone and status signals that are not recog-
nized by the "AW50" alarm dialer as "answering".
If the call isn’t answered there either, the same dialing cycle takes place again after a short break.
If there is still nobody that answers the call of the alarm dialer, there is a second dialing cycle again.
If there is still nobody who answers one of the calls, the alarm dialer stops the dialing activities.
Please note:
Each smoke detector should be regularly tested by a test alarm, about once a month.
If you want to avoid that an alarm call takes place, put the alarm dialer to test mode, as
described in chapter 8.
3. Battery empty warning
If there is a drop in battery voltage (if batteries are fitted), the alarm dialer will play-back the
message of the battery empty warning hourly for 24 hours internally via its speaker.
Afterwards the programmable telephone numbers are called, just like with other alarms; if the call
is answered the play-back of the battery empty warning takes place (message 4).
