c) Connection to the telephone network
The connection to the telephone network can be effected in different ways:
1. Direct connection between analog telephone socket (F socket) and analog telephone (F plug)
2. As an extension to a telephone system (analog or ISDN)

Please note:
In case of a connection to an analog telephone system, the alarm dialler must be
connected as emergency equipment (or connected before the emergency equipment).
Otherwise the alarm dialler cannot establish a connection in the event of a power failure!
Often, in an ISDN telephone system, it is not possible to operate an analog telephone
(exception: ISDN telephone with a/b-port). Follow the operating instructions of your ISDN
telephone system.
To connect proceed as follows:
• If you wish to add the alarm dialler between an already existing analog telephone and a telephone
wall socket, first remove the TAE plug of the telephone from the telephone wall socket.
Insert the F plug of the alarm dialler in the same socket of the telephone socket (F-connection).
Connect the F plug of the analog telephone to the F socket of the alarm dialler.

If the alarm dialler is not active (i.e. not dialling or transmitting an alarm message), the
telephone can be use quite normally, as if the alarm dialler were not present.
• If you wish to connect the alarm dialler to a telephone system, the connection is dependent on the
already existing cabling. As already noted above, the extension is to be connected as an
emergency equipment or the corresponding extension to be used for connecting the alarm dialler.
• Insert the two telephone cables on the alarm dialler through the corresponding recesses and
guides on the rear side of the alarm dialler. The figure in section 6. a) shows an example for the
cable routing.
• On inserting the batteries and/or connecting a power pack and connecting to the telephone
network, the alarm dialler is ready to operate and must now be programmed (telephone numbers,
voice messages and possibly other settings).
