Event Message: SANMan could not create symbolic link.
Corrective Action:
Determine if the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is installed:
Ensure that the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is installed. See Message 5.
If the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is installed, use the Device Manager to
disable and enable the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver to restart the ServerNet II
SAN Management Driver.
If the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is NOT installed:
If the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is not installed, check
%systemroot%\system32\drivers
to determine if the
spad.sys
driver has been copied to
the node. If it has not, copy it from the product CD image to the aforementioned location.
Using the Device Manager, check for the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry.
If there is an entry, use the Device Manager to disable and enable the Compaq ServerNet
II PCI Adapter Driver to restart the ServerNet II SAN Management Driver.
If the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is NOT installed and there is NO
ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry:
If the Device Manager does not show a Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry, re-
install the ServerNet II software on the node.

Event Message: SANMan registry is invalid.
Corrective Action: Reinstall SANMan on the node.

Error
Event Message: The SANMan module <module name> failed during initialization.
Corrective Action: Increase the physical memory. If the problem persists, contact your
service provider.

Event Message: ServerNetID mismatch between the X and Y switches.
Corrective Action:
Verify that the X-fabric and Y-fabric Switches are correctly installed on the SAN and
powered on.
Check the connections and reboot.

Error
Event Message: SANMan disconnecting node from the SAN due to errors.
Corrective Action:
Verify that the X-fabric and Y-fabric Switches are correctly installed to the SAN and
powered on.
SAN Administrative node is up and running.
The node is added to the SAN with correct host name.
Check the connections and reboot.
If the problem persists, reconfigure the Switches.
