Corrective Action:
Determine if there is a memory resource problem:
Ensure that there is sufficient memory resource available. Using the Task Manager, check
memory consumption on the node. If there is a problem, reduce consumption of memory
resources (reduce the number of applications or individual application memory allocation,
and so forth) or add more physical memory.
If a memory resource problem has been resolved, use the Device Manager to disable and
enable the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver to restart the ServerNet II SAN
Management Driver.
If there is no memory resource problem, determine if the Compaq ServerNet II PCI
Adapter Driver is installed:
If there is sufficient memory available, ensure that the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter
Driver is installed. See Message 5.
If there is sufficient memory available, and the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is
installed, use the Device Manager to disable and enable use the Device Manager to
disable and enable the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver to restart the ServerNet II
SAN Management Driver.
If there is no memory resource problem, and the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter
Driver is NOT installed:
If there is sufficient memory available, and the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver is
not installed, check
%systemroot%\system32\drivers
to determine if the
spad.sys
driver
has been copied to the node. If it has not, copy it from the product CD image to the
aforementioned location.
Using the Device Manager, check for the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry.
If there is an entry, use the Device Manager to disable and enable the Compaq ServerNet
II PCI Adapter Driver to restart the ServerNet II SAN Management Driver.
If there is no memory resource problem, and the Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter
Driver is NOT installed and there is NO ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry:
If the Device Manager does not show a Compaq ServerNet II PCI Adapter Driver entry, re-
install the ServerNet II software on the node.
