Installing an
Expansion Board
Your Deskpro 4000S Personal Computer has a single PCI/ISA
combination expansion slot located on the expansion card cage.
To install an expansion board, complete the following steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly.
2. Remove the system unit cover.
3. Remove the expansion card cage.
4. Remove the retaining screw that secures the slot cover to
the expansion card cage. Install the expansion board.
5. Reinstall screws to secure the board.
✎
When you install an expansion board, make sure you
press firmly on the board so that the whole connector
seats properly in the expansion board slot.
Upgrading Memory
Memory may be expanded by replacing or adding up to two
dual inline memory modules (DIMMs) at a time onto the
system board.
✎
Your Deskpro 4000S Personal Computer can accept
standard DIMMs or ECC DIMMs or a combination of
both.
CAUTION:
Static electricity can damage the electronic
components of the computer or optional boards. Before beginning
these procedures, ensure that you are discharged of static
electricity by briefly touching a grounded metal object.
CAUTION:
When handling a memory module, be careful not to
touch any of the contacts. Doing so can damage the module.
