Removal and Replacement Procedures
5.10 Expansion Board
The Deskpro 4000N has a single PCI expansion slot while the 4000S has both a PCI and an ISA slot.
To remove the expansion board, complete the following steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 5.4).
2. Remove the system unit cover (Section 5.7).
3. Remove the expansion board cage (Section 5.9).
4. Remove the retaining screw that secures the board to the expansion board cage; then, remove the
expansion board.

To replace the expansion board, reverse the above procedure.

If you are installing an expansion board for the first time, remove the desired expansion board
slot cover before installing the board.
When installing the expansion board cage, ensure that the tab on the cage latches into the slot
on the side of the power supply.
The computer should automatically recognize the added Plug and Play expansion board.

Only a 7-inch long option board may be used in these models.
