Removal and Replacement Procedures
5.18 Easy Access Drive Cage
To remove the Easy Access Drive Cage from the computer chassis, complete the following steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 5.4).
2. Remove the system unit cover (Section 5.7).
3. Remove the drives from the drive cage (Section 5.18).
4. Disconnect all cables from the back of the drive cage.

Remove the latch retainer from the right side of the chassis (Section 5.8).
6. Remove the hinge locking screw

from the front of the chassis that is to the right of the hinge
bar.
7. Slide the hinge bar

to the right to disengage it from the hinge tabs.
CAUTION:
When removing the hinge bar, make sure that the drive cage spring

does not drop onto the
system board.
8. Lift the drive cage from the chassis.

To replace the drive cage, reverse the above procedure.
