Manual Calibration
It is possible to manually set a reference calibration value for the cardiac output. This can be done
in the menu
Hemodynamic | CO Calibration (CI Calibration)
in the menu option
Calibration
,
by entering a CO respectively CI calibration value. This reference value should be collected in time
from a reference method (e.g. echocardiography, thermodilution).
Note:
To achieve highest accuracy for the HD measurement the following settings are recom-
mended:
•
NBP Mmeasurement Type
set to
15 min
(see chapter 4.2.4)
•
Manual calibration of the CO/CI value to an independent reference measurement
Depending on the displayed parameter type (setting in menu
Hemodynamic | Indexed
), the CO
or the CI value needs to be entered for calibration.
Illustration 57: Manual CO calibration
The entered calibration value needs to be confirmed with
Ok
to calibrate the HD parameter values.
An advisory message will be shown when the calibration value has been accepted and the time of
calibration and the reference value are shown in the hemodynamic field.
A previously entered calibration can be removed with the menu entry
Hemodynamic | CO Cali-
bration | Remove Calibration
. The calibration will be reset to the calibration value calculated
from the patient data.
Note:
•
A manual calibration can only be performed if all patient data have been entered
(gender, age, weight and height) and the CNAP
®
signal is calibrated.
Note:
•
The change of the CO value can change over the time. Therefore it is important to
have only a short time delay between reference measurement and entering the ref-
erence value into the CNAP
®
Monitor 500.
To allow an accurate calculation of systemic vascular resistance (SVR/SVRI) it is possible to enter
the central venous pressure in the menu
Hemodynamic | CVP
. The default value for the CVP is
set to 7 mmHg.
