Configuration Command Set
As packets are retransmitted following lack of acknowledgements, the rto will
continue to increase until it reaches this value. This value should be set greater
than the rto-def value. Setting this value too low on high latency networks (e.g.,
slow WAN links) can adversely affect performance. Use the no form of the
command to return the rto-max to the global value. If no global settings exist for
a parameter, the factory default parameter is used instead. See RFC 1122 and
RFC 2988.

The default number of milliseconds before
retransmitting; the valid range is from 1 to the rto-def
value milliseconds (inclusive).

The factory default. At the time of publication, the
factory default is 100 milliseconds.
