3.10.3 Construction of Paper Feed Assembly

a) Components associated with the paper feed assembly

The paper feed assembly consists of: the components to support the paper path
including the paper guide and platen; and the components relating to the paper
feeding function including the roll paper feed rollers driven by the feed motor, feed
rollers, and pressure roller unit.
The paper is carried horizontally through the path between the platen at the bottom
and the BJ print heads at the top so that it remains flat during the feeding action.

b) Components associated with the detection

The paper feed subsystem includes sensors to monitor the paper feeding actions and
the status of the units associated with the paper path.
